Every design begins with an assessment of your space’s light, scale, and architectural features to create a planting plan that thrives and makes a statement. We design for year-round color and texture, creating an outdoor space you’ll look forward to returning to. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or don’t have a green thumb, Stem & Statement will select elements that align with your comfort level and willingness to maintain them. We can dig in with reckless abandon, using tender annuals for maximum color, variety, and layered interest, or take a more low-maintenance approach with a wide selection of hardy annuals and perennials, enhanced with dried or faux accents and decorative fillers. We can work with your existing containers, if you have them, or recommend and source vessels that complement and strengthen the overall design. Every experience is fully customizable.

 We offer container “Refreshes”: tailored seasonal designs for established planters with life left in them and nutrient-rich soil, but in need of a boost of color, texture, and whimsy. For a more intensive transformation, we offer container “Resets”: custom designs for new or existing pots that need a complete overhaul, potentially including fresh soil or soil amendments.
