After almost thirty years in the hospitality industry and seven more as an elementary educator, I know the impact of a warm and authentic welcome. Whether it's a nicely plated appetizer or a freshly taped, hand-painted classroom door, it's the small, consistent details that set the tone for what comes next. Welcoming people well is ingrained in my Tennessean culture, and Stem & Statement is rooted in that same spirit: creating entrances that feel warm, intentional, personalized, and inviting.

Some of my fondest childhood memories were spent planting bulbs and giving garden tours in my grandparents' gardens, and crafting at my mother's side, my hands covered in glitter and wisps of "angel hair" from the hot glue gun. My grandparents and my mother poured countless hours into creating beautiful, abundant spaces, and along the way their knowledge, creativity, and love of plants took root in me, too. It feels only natural that my love of gardening and my love of repurposing would shake hands and become partners in my quest to find potential and leave every entrance more loved than I found it. Gardening and creating remain two of my greatest joys, and I now get to pass them on to my own two children.

God has opened many doors and windows in my life, and this brand celebrates the blessings waiting on the other side of each, utilizing some of my gifts for His glory. A million seemingly insignificant but deeply treasured moments, wrapped in wonder, beauty, and memory, have somehow led me to yet another door I never expected to walk through.

My goal is simple: to leave every space more welcoming than I found it, and to create something that feels like it could only belong there.
